About the Statementizer Library

Who writes this library, what it will and will not say, and how you can check and correct it.

Who we are

Pages are published by the Statementizer Team, the group behindStatementizer, a service that reads broker statement PDFs into spreadsheets. That is a commercial interest and we say so: a page may mention Statementizer once, where it is relevant, and never in place of the answer.

Pages are signed with the team name, not with an invented person. Pages are drafted with AI assistance and released through an automated quality gate rather than approved one by one by an editor (seeHow AI is used). People at Statementizer define the sources and rules the gate enforces and handle every correction. When a named person is willing to stand behind a page, their name will replace the team byline.

What we cover, and what we do not

In scope: what a statement contains, how a file format is structured, how to move numbers between systems, and calculators that show their formula. Out of scope: what anyone should report, claim, deduct, buy, sell or size. If a topic needs the sentence "you should", we leave it out. Every calculator repeats this on the page.

How we source

  • Every number, date and factual claim has a source on the page, with the date we last opened it.
  • We prefer the primary source: the standard, the vendor's or broker's own documentation, a public specimen.
  • Secondary sources give context only. They are labelled as such and never the basis of a rule.
  • Worked examples are produced by the same code the calculator runs, never typed by hand, and the code is tested against an independent reference.
  • Sample files and statements are synthetic or public specimens. No customer data appears here.
  • Each page shows a Verified on date: the day we last re-checked every fact on it against its sources. A claim we could not confirm from a primary source carries an amber verify marker until it is confirmed.

How we correct

If a page is wrong, tell us at the address above. We fix it, update the Verified on date only when the page's facts have been re-checked, and do not silently change a number. A public changelog of corrections is planned for this section. Pages about things that change, such as broker screens and export options, will be re-checked on a schedule and marked out of date if we miss it.

How AI is used

Pages are drafted with AI assistance. AI can propose structure, wording, tables and code. It is never the source of a fact: facts come from the sources listed on the page. Before a page is released it must pass an automated gate: every factual claim needs a named source, statements about what Statementizer does are checked against a register of what the product can and cannot do, and calculators are tested against independent reference values. Pages are released by that gate, not read and approved one by one by an editor, so mistakes are possible; we correct them as soon as they are reported. We do not publish fabricated quotes, statistics, screenshots or personal experience.

Your data

The calculators run in your browser. What you type is not sent to us or anyone else. We use Google Analytics to count visits. In the EU, UK and Switzerland, and where we cannot tell your location, nothing loads until you accept. The "Analytics preferences" link in the footer reopens that choice. Analytics never receives what you enter into a tool.See also the Statementizer privacy policy.
